Professional Educator Discussion Forum

Boone County Lamp of LearningGreetings Educators!
This site will serve as a method for us to communicate with each other and reflect on topics relevant to education in the 21st Century. I will post information about items of interest to teachers, especially Reading. Members may post comments as well.

First, click sign up on the top right of the page and join.
  • Then click on 'Start Thread' below and just to let us know who has accessed the page and signed up so far. You can also click on 'Post Reply' to comment on someone elses posting. This home page is to serve as an introductory page, with the professional conversation occuring under the Topic pages on the left.
  • Click on the Topic of your choice in the left margin box and post your thoughts. Try to put your comments under the relevant topic so everyone can follow the dialog.
  • Note that there are 2 ways to post a comment. You can choose 'comment' and it will attach to the main message. Or you can click 'reply' and attach to a comment. Either method is fine.

Think about this method for professional development , especially for reflection and evaluation. Is it a viable alternative? Why or Why not?

I am learning more about WIKIs and thier use in the classroom. I have been aware of them for a while, but I am just now taking the time to learn about them.
